What is the best lesson you’ve ever received about money?
It is only recently that people have begun studying the relationship individuals have with money and where they’ve come from.
Often we have developed beliefs and habits without really stopping to think about where these have come from.
Some people have a strong fear of never having enough money, the result of growing up in poverty. They scrimp and save and avoid waste, determined to never end up in that place again.
Others grow up surrounded by wealth and assume that this is the natural order of things. They take wealth for granted without ever understanding (or valuing) the process by which it’s been created.
Today I’d like you to pause and think about your relationship with money and how it came about.
Did it result from an experience you had? Was it the result of your actions, or were you collateral damage for someone else’s bad decisions?
Were you taught formally, perhaps by a parent who took the time to sit down and talk with you?
There are many different ways to learn.
So, what was the best lesson you ever received about money?
I'd love you to share your experience - shoot me back an email with it.
