I spent Sunday afternoon sharing a bottle of champagne with my wife. The best thing is my life insurance company gave it to me…
When was the last time were rewarded by a life insurer for being healthy?
Never?
You aren’t alone.
Life insurers aren’t known for being generous – not an undeserved reputation given one of their biggest products requires you to die before they will pay out any money.
Historically they have assessed your health when you applied for cover, and you continue to be covered regardless of what happens to your health. This means that if you look after yourself and remain healthy then you are reducing the risk to the insurer, but you pay the same rates as someone who doesn’t.
This is bizarre. Some progressive insurers now reward you for looking after your health. In my case the exercise I’d done recently earned a gift voucher that could be spent at my favourite bottle shop – hence the nice champagne (also a nice way to apologise for waking Jenn at stupid o’clock when I get up to go running).
If you’re fit and healthy, you no longer need to put up with paying ‘couch potato rates’ for your insurance – so look around.
If you’d like some info simply hit this link and type ‘champagne running’ in the subject line and I'll DM you.
